[00:01:15] Speaker B: Yeah, he's just calling the check on me and shit before he called me to tell me good night, you know. But, yeah, man, we had a lot going on, man. You know, my mom's older sister passed away, and we was dealing with dad. And then a couple weeks after that, shout out to my dog Renzo. His pop passed away, and we helped him get through that. Then just, you know, graduations and stepson graduated. Shout out to him, congratulations, class of 2025. And, you know, proud moment. [00:01:57] Speaker C: Jukebox. [00:01:58] Speaker B: Yeah, man, I met that kid when he was 5, you know, and to see the evolution and the transition from him going from a little boy to a young man is just, you know, he did that. It's amazing, man. He weird kid, but, you know, he's. [00:02:16] Speaker C: A good kid, though. [00:02:16] Speaker B: Yeah, he good kid. Like a lot of these. Most of these kids like good kids. I ain't gonna hold you, but you got a few out there that still. [00:02:24] Speaker A: You know, the heads. [00:02:26] Speaker B: Yeah, you can't escape it. They gonna be there. But his class had 435 students to graduate. [00:02:38] Speaker A: Y' all just got done coming, though. [00:02:39] Speaker B: And when I tell you they ran through, these motherfuckers was decorated. [00:02:45] Speaker A: Summa Kun, Magna Kunta. [00:02:47] Speaker B: These mother had cords all kind of shit. Metals and man medals and ropes, everything. [00:02:53] Speaker A: You had ropes and shit? [00:02:54] Speaker B: I had French cords. [00:02:56] Speaker A: You had French cords? Well, you was honest French. Shout out to. [00:03:01] Speaker B: And I took the national French exam. Placed in the top 99. [00:03:03] Speaker A: Pauly vous fonce. [00:03:06] Speaker B: Ms. Alford took us to Francis Mann to take it. [00:03:09] Speaker A: So do you still know some French? [00:03:10] Speaker B: I know a little bit. I knew how I could write it better than I could speak it really, but I could speak it. [00:03:15] Speaker C: Yeah, you could write it, but you can speak it. [00:03:18] Speaker A: Say something in French. [00:03:20] Speaker B: Bonjour. [00:03:21] Speaker A: Hello. [00:03:22] Speaker B: Sava. Oui. Sava. Tres bien. [00:03:25] Speaker A: That's that. [00:03:26] Speaker B: No hello, how are you? [00:03:27] Speaker A: What's tres bien? [00:03:28] Speaker B: Tres bien. Very well. Etoi and you. [00:03:33] Speaker A: And you. Etou in Spanish. [00:03:35] Speaker B: Yeah, I know most of you and that's the like. It's that shit so close. [00:03:39] Speaker A: It is. [00:03:40] Speaker B: It's real close. Yeah, it's real close. But yeah, I did that and I had my French honor chords. One of the chords I had C. C, yeah. But yeah, these kids like. It was fucking amazing, dog. I'm talking about. Nah, that graduation started at 4, 5, 30. We was out of them 430something motherfuckers. [00:04:01] Speaker A: I see everybody else graduation and I hate it because. Cause our graduation was wet. [00:04:06] Speaker B: Nah, our graduation was dope. [00:04:08] Speaker A: No, it wasn't. You wanna know why ours was wet? [00:04:09] Speaker B: Why? Cause it was outside. [00:04:11] Speaker A: Nope. Because they didn't call our names out. [00:04:14] Speaker B: While we was on the stage. [00:04:16] Speaker A: They had it pre recorded. Yeah, so when they called your name, like when they called my name out, I was already back to my seat. [00:04:23] Speaker C: Oh, hell yeah. Hell, we ain't even heard that bad. [00:04:26] Speaker B: But our graduation was dope. Cause that was the first time Cintel ever walked. [00:04:31] Speaker A: Walked. Yeah. [00:04:32] Speaker B: Other than that, that was the dopest part of our graduation. [00:04:34] Speaker A: He was like. He wanted to make sure he walked. [00:04:36] Speaker B: Across the st. Yeah. So that was the dopest moment. That's why I say our graduation was dope. [00:04:40] Speaker A: Yeah, they did it even with that. Cause that took a while. They still was like calling names. [00:04:46] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:04:46] Speaker A: You know what I'm saying? [00:04:47] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:04:48] Speaker A: While he was walking across the stage. [00:04:50] Speaker B: Dr. Askins. No, doctor, what was my man name? Thompson. [00:04:55] Speaker A: He was a prince. I don't remember. [00:04:56] Speaker B: Thompson was our principal. Short, dark skinned guy. I mean brown skinned fellow with glasses. [00:04:59] Speaker A: I don't remember who our principal was. Yeah, he was out after Wingate. There's you know, Wingate's alpha and omega. [00:05:04] Speaker B: Yeah, it was just what it was. [00:05:05] Speaker C: What was his last year? [00:05:08] Speaker B: 96. [00:05:09] Speaker A: Yeah, 96. [00:05:09] Speaker B: Yeah, he left in 96. Yeah. But yeah, man, so that did all that. I want to shout out to Landon, Tammy caper son. He graduated from Spring Valley. Landon always, you know, always been a cool little fella. [00:05:27] Speaker A: But he run track or something too, ain't it? [00:05:29] Speaker B: He had all this shit on. State championship medals, rings, everything. [00:05:34] Speaker A: They want to take the championship. [00:05:36] Speaker B: He did. Oh, I think he went into high jump. [00:05:38] Speaker A: Oh, he. So he won. [00:05:40] Speaker B: Yeah, I think he won. [00:05:41] Speaker A: Just like Renzo. Shout out to Renzo. [00:05:42] Speaker B: I think he won. He won two actually. So yeah, he had all this shit on, you know what I'm saying? That's dope. That's dope. But yeah, man. Darling High hadn't had their graduation yet. [00:05:54] Speaker A: School still going, them mothers still taking tests around here. [00:05:57] Speaker B: Yeah. So I know I got a cousin or two graduating from Darlington High. I just hadn't been paying attention. [00:06:02] Speaker C: What is this week? [00:06:03] Speaker B: I'm sure probably Friday. [00:06:06] Speaker A: Yeah, gotta be. Gotta be. [00:06:07] Speaker B: If they still do shit like we used to do it, but everybody do shit different. [00:06:11] Speaker A: Yeah, it's been graduations already like high school, so. [00:06:14] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Cause. But yeah, it was been pretty busy month we had that. The event, the battalion thing he was in as well. So that's why I really couldn't record. Cause the rehearsals for that was on Sundays. [00:06:30] Speaker A: What's more important? [00:06:33] Speaker C: Hit him in the back. [00:06:35] Speaker B: What's more important? [00:06:36] Speaker A: I'm just messing with you. Having a place to sleep at night. [00:06:42] Speaker B: Not being side eyed all the damn time. [00:06:45] Speaker A: Shout out to your wife, man. And your. [00:06:47] Speaker B: But boy. And he did not want to do it. [00:06:52] Speaker A: Why did the mama make him do it then? [00:06:54] Speaker B: She didn't make him, she just kept asking him. [00:06:56] Speaker C: He. [00:06:56] Speaker B: You know how when your mom talking to you, she like, hey, I think you should try such and such. You like? Nah, I'm cool. [00:07:02] Speaker A: She understand. [00:07:02] Speaker B: Well, if you think about it, it'll do this, this and this for you and blah blah, blah. It'll help this. I don't wanna do it. But think about the good, the plus of it. All right, I'll do it. That's how she got him. [00:07:14] Speaker A: Is she in sorority or something like that? No, she did that when she was growing up. [00:07:17] Speaker B: No, I don't know if she did the cotillion Jabberwock thing or not. My sister did both of them. [00:07:24] Speaker A: Oh, your sister did. [00:07:24] Speaker B: She did a cotillion and the jabberwock shit. [00:07:27] Speaker A: I thought she was being funny when you said Jabba walk. Because when you say Jabba walk, I think about the jabwawa. [00:07:31] Speaker B: That's what the Deltas. [00:07:34] Speaker A: That what they call that shit? [00:07:35] Speaker B: Jabberwock. [00:07:35] Speaker A: Jabberwock. Which one is more famous? The cotillion probably more than the Jabberwockies. I'm talking about Jabberwockies. Jabberwockies. Jabberwockies. [00:07:45] Speaker B: Jabberwockies. Jabbawakaz. [00:07:48] Speaker A: Deltas was not on mtv. Sorry. [00:07:50] Speaker B: Nah, they wasn't. Oh no Spring bling. Oh, that was Bet. All my managers was going on vacation, so my general manager, he was back there working, you know what I'm saying? So he was like, he was wheeling and dealing. That mother was letting that go for $5,000 cheaper. And the people, they was about to buy it, ready, sign the papers and everything. The wife go outside to show the daughter. Cause it was gonna be her graduation gift. [00:08:45] Speaker B: She ain't like it. [00:08:46] Speaker A: She didn't like the color. [00:08:48] Speaker B: These kids, boy. See, and that what we be talking about. These pampered ass kids. [00:08:53] Speaker C: The color. [00:08:54] Speaker A: She didn't like the color. I don't really like a red car. A 2024 Camry with bells and wheels. It had some bells. It ain't had all the whistles, but it had a lot of bells. [00:09:04] Speaker C: Right? Right. [00:09:05] Speaker A: Leather. Yeah, we used to be all over the fucking place. Yeah, we used to be all over. [00:09:52] Speaker A: If I'd have had a 1999 car. [00:09:55] Speaker B: A 1998 car, if I'd had a 90 something, right? I ain't have a 90s car till 2000 something, right? [00:10:02] Speaker A: Me too. I had about a. A 96 Chrysler Cirrus in 2000. No, probably 99. I got it later on in 99 and then it started acting up. Them old big cars, they be floating going down. [00:10:26] Speaker B: Right. [00:10:26] Speaker C: I was in front of. It was quick field back in the day, Circle B. [00:10:34] Speaker A: Riding. [00:10:35] Speaker C: And then right in front of there, there's a. There's a little bump in the room. But I was coming in hot. [00:10:43] Speaker A: And. [00:10:43] Speaker C: I hit that damn bump. I did like a three wheel motion, but mine went opposite. Mine went down instead of going up. [00:10:51] Speaker A: Damn. [00:10:51] Speaker C: And I just looked and I could just see that tight. [00:10:59] Speaker B: Damn. [00:10:59] Speaker A: Did it hit somebody car? [00:11:00] Speaker C: It hit what it hit. [00:11:03] Speaker B: Oh, shit. [00:11:04] Speaker C: Hit Bush down. Oh, I'm talking about that bush down. [00:11:06] Speaker A: Which way you was going? You going back towards uptown or towards Florence? [00:11:10] Speaker C: Going towards Florence. [00:12:44] Speaker A: Yeah. No, it wasn't a hat. They call it. It was a ball cap. [00:12:48] Speaker B: A ball cap. That's right. [00:12:49] Speaker A: You're right. That ball cap. [00:12:51] Speaker C: They had that ball cap crease. Everybody uniform Was starched up. [00:12:55] Speaker A: Starch. [00:12:56] Speaker C: Start. Unifor. Uniforms. [00:12:57] Speaker A: Uniform disc up. [00:12:59] Speaker C: And all of them had an old car. And all of them had an suv. [00:13:05] Speaker A: Damn, you right. He did get an suv. All. [00:13:20] Speaker B: Oh, I think I remember Kawala. [00:13:21] Speaker C: And boy had all the cologne on and all that stupid. [00:13:23] Speaker B: I remember Kawala. I remember. [00:13:25] Speaker C: I can't remember this other guy, but he had. He had a Pathfinder. He was the first one to get a Pathfinder. I think your dad had an Explorer. [00:13:35] Speaker A: Yep. Had an Explorer. [00:13:36] Speaker C: My dad got a. A Misubishi when they came out. [00:13:40] Speaker B: Montero. [00:13:40] Speaker A: Yeah, he was black crib. [00:13:47] Speaker C: It was great. [00:13:48] Speaker A: Somebody had a. I think the people right down the street had a bergen in Montero. Right down from my dad. [00:13:55] Speaker B: Yep, I remember that too. That was on Sharon. [00:14:00] Speaker A: They had the burgundy ones that was. [00:14:01] Speaker B: Married to the twin. [00:14:03] Speaker A: Yeah, that's what it was. [00:14:04] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah, man, but yeah, man, it's been so much that happened. I was trying to keep up and then shit just started going on, so I just stopped keeping up. But of course my guys did reach out. Philly and High Star. So I'm gonna read them emails real quick so we can get on through it. [00:14:48] Speaker A: Which one you going to first? [00:14:50] Speaker B: Philly? These lists are made to cause controversy. Boy, that's the last episode that we did that was april 20th. Something. Damn. Yo, Jones. Yo, Wally June. Yo, be easy. Sorry for your loss, boy. Rest in peace to your aunt. Hopefully your aunt finds it in her heart to get off the negative stuff with Mom Dukes. No one wins. When the Family Feuds update on that, it's still going on. And I'm still trying to keep from pulling my hair out. Still going on, man. That shit's so ridiculous, man. Be easy. Crazy saying your uncle is one of the first Maliks out there. [00:15:37] Speaker A: I forgot about that. [00:15:38] Speaker B: First Malik I ever heard of. Yeah, be easy. You're talking about OG Double D getting shot and killed in his Maybach on 20 or 85 in Atlanta a few years ago. [00:15:48] Speaker A: That who it was OG Double D. [00:15:50] Speaker B: Also, Lil Marlo got shot and killed on the highway in Atlanta a few years ago as well. He was Lil Baby's homie who signed the quality control music. Not sure if these Johns are top 10 posse cuts. But when I think of posse cuts, they come to mind. Admittedly they don't have four or more people, but to me a posse is three or more people. Number one was what we do. Whole Beans and free. Number two is Monster Ye Hov Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj Antioch Remix, Mop Busta and Remy Ma and the Steel Tipping remix. Slim Thug, Paul Wall. Mike Jones had no clue. It was the 20th anniversary of who was Mike Jones being released. Another good episode. Can't wait to hear the next. [00:16:41] Speaker A: Shout out to Philly. [00:16:42] Speaker B: Shout out to Philly. Shout out to that guy. Yeah, man, 2005 was a pretty good year, you know, as far as new niggas coming out. Cause you know, Texas had they whole thing happening. Mike Jones, Paul wynter. That was 05.0405. All that shit was around the same. [00:17:01] Speaker A: Time when it really jumped. [00:17:02] Speaker B: When it really jumped off. Cause they had to get off the snap shit. Lil Jon was still. And the snap shit was still crunking. Snap, crunk. He went from crunk to snapping. So snapping. This was Laffy Taffy. All that shit came out around 04.05. So the mike Jones era was after that. Right around the same time. [00:17:24] Speaker A: Well, I remember Mike Jones still tipping video playing on Uncut. And I remember I was still living. I was still at my mama house. [00:17:34] Speaker B: So that was 03.03. [00:17:36] Speaker A: All the beginning of 04. Cause I was. [00:17:39] Speaker B: Well, you know, we always got shit late. [00:17:40] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, but no, it was on Uncut. [00:17:42] Speaker B: I mean, but that was it. So it wasn't on Rap City. [00:17:45] Speaker A: Yeah, it didn't jump off until maybe the next year. [00:17:50] Speaker B: 04. [00:17:51] Speaker A: Really? Yeah. 04 05. So yeah, 05. [00:17:55] Speaker B: Yeah, like you said. But yeah, Philly. [00:17:59] Speaker A: Shout out to Philly though, for remembering. [00:18:01] Speaker B: That dude, Double D. Yeah. [00:18:02] Speaker A: Cause I didn't know him. But it was a chick I followed on Instagram. I don't know if she dated him or what. Or they was just tired or whatever. She was distraught by it or whatever. She was posting them and I didn't know. I ain't know who the dude was, but I was like, he must be somebody. He had a. You know what I'm saying? An expensive car like that. [00:18:19] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:18:19] Speaker A: You know what I'm saying? [00:18:20] Speaker B: So yeah. All right, next email from the guy. High Star. Yer. What up fellas? It's been a while. Glad y' all appreciated the rap God criteria list I sent in. Yeah, we did. Cause we all came up with our own criteria off of his busy rap Week shout out to the young kids getting in the ring. Yeah, we gonna get into that too. Red Bull Freestyle, Big Sean, Absol and Joey. How do you rank their performances? I enjoyed it. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Because they rapping. Number one. Ab Soul is a different type of fucking rapper. [00:19:11] Speaker A: It called a Red Bull freestyle. [00:19:15] Speaker B: And boys is in the same room. You know, like Joey. I always been a fan of Joey Badass since He came out 2009, 10, 11. Whenever he came out, I always liked Joey. Cause he can really rap then. That Rayvon Ho era is tough. I can't lie. I like the line, quit acting, get active. Quit acting, get active. Shit was catchy. Yeah. I mean. Cause he gonna say whatever. He got to provoke Joey to keep going. Them boys going at it. Now they are going the fuck like. And now Joey calling out Kendrick. [00:20:03] Speaker A: He did this ain't the first time, though. [00:20:05] Speaker B: I know Kendrick ain't gonna respond. I know he ain't. [00:20:07] Speaker A: He don't. It gotta be. I think it gotta be somebody that he really don't like. [00:20:11] Speaker B: It gotta be. It gotta be. And he ain't got no problem with Joey. [00:20:16] Speaker A: And Joey don't want it. [00:20:17] Speaker B: And Joey don't. He might not want it. [00:20:19] Speaker A: I don't think he really want it. [00:20:20] Speaker B: Joey can rap. [00:20:22] Speaker A: Yeah, but you can't. He can't. Really. You not gonna get Kendrick on anything, really. [00:20:28] Speaker B: But what you gonna get Joey on? [00:20:30] Speaker A: You could just make a way better song. [00:20:32] Speaker B: He could do that. But George has dropped another song on Hit him up Beat. [00:20:37] Speaker A: On what? [00:20:38] Speaker B: Hit him up Beat. [00:20:39] Speaker A: It's not his song. That don't count. Oh, make a song. [00:20:43] Speaker B: I mean. Well, I mean, no, he just did another. You know what I'm saying? [00:20:46] Speaker A: Like. [00:20:47] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. I mean, but that's like. That's what. That's where we at with. We. We want songs. [00:20:53] Speaker A: No. Well, so like, if somebody make like, you know how like Wayne did the show me what you got remix, whatever that. That to me, that can never be a 10. [00:21:06] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:21:06] Speaker A: Cause the hardest part of a song is the concept. Jay done did the concept. Anybody who did it. Like Jay did the Rockstar song, the Neptune shit. [00:21:16] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:21:16] Speaker A: That song could never be a 10, no matter how much I love it. Cause they already came up with that song first. You just copy that shit. Made your own lyrics to their hook and all of that. So if you come out with a song with somebody else beat already, I can't give you a 10. So Joey gotta come out with his own song, A whole new song and. [00:21:34] Speaker B: Make it hot standing next to Soul ain't gonna save yours. That last line, how you let Ice Spice become the king of New York. That's what Rayvon said to Joey Badass. [00:21:52] Speaker A: So they in the same room dissing each other. [00:21:54] Speaker B: Not these two. Ray Vaughn wasn't. [00:21:56] Speaker A: Oh, this was. [00:21:56] Speaker B: That was different. [00:21:57] Speaker A: Oh, that was absolutely. [00:22:00] Speaker B: That's why he's standing. That's why he said. That's why Ray Vaughn said standing next to Soul ain't gonna save yours. [00:22:05] Speaker A: Because Rayvon is. [00:22:07] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:22:09] Speaker A: West coast or td? [00:22:10] Speaker B: I don't. I. I think he. I think he's just West Coast. [00:22:13] Speaker A: Okay. [00:22:16] Speaker B: I think he's just West Coast. You know, them last lines supposed to really sting. And that's the. You know, the punchline of the bar. You gotta get that ooh if you don't get that ooh from that. You know what I'm saying? This was more comedy. And I get it. It went viral and helped me push and helped push the song. So Rayvon, like, him and Rayvon and Joey Badass been at it for the last couple. [00:22:41] Speaker A: Is it like real beef beef? Or is it just. [00:22:43] Speaker B: I don't think it's no real beef. [00:22:44] Speaker A: Rapping. [00:22:44] Speaker B: You know, Joey said some shit about the West Coast a while. [00:22:47] Speaker A: Yeah. Not too long ago. [00:22:49] Speaker B: Yeah. And did the video and all that. So they boys responded back. I mean. But I appreciate it. Cause I don't think no violence gonna come from this or none of that shit. Cause these boys just straight rapping. [00:23:02] Speaker A: I got a question. How was Big Sean on this song? [00:23:06] Speaker B: I didn't even really listen to his verse. [00:23:08] Speaker A: Oh. Cause he catch a bad break whenever shit like this happen. Like, he got a bad. [00:23:12] Speaker B: He always caught it in the middle. He always caught in the middle. But he can rap. [00:23:16] Speaker A: He had a dope verse on control, but him and Jay Electronic had a dope verse on control. [00:23:21] Speaker B: But once Kendrick got up, they talking that shit, boy. Everybody forgot about that shit. [00:23:24] Speaker A: He wasn't even talking shit. He was really being like. [00:23:29] Speaker B: A motivator. [00:23:30] Speaker A: No, metaphoric. [00:23:31] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:23:32] Speaker A: When he was saying, like, I'm the king of New York, I'm this and that, he was comparing himself to them people. Whatever. But people took it like, oh, how is this nigga the king of New York? And he from Compton. [00:23:40] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:23:41] Speaker A: We started Hope because he the rap. [00:23:43] Speaker B: King of New York. [00:23:44] Speaker A: Now he is the king of New York for real. [00:23:45] Speaker B: He the king of Canada on the trick daddy flip on his book. I meant flip on his hook. Sounds like he's saying, huh. Okay, what's up? Shut up. Then I listen, and it Sounds like he said, huh? Okay, west, up. Shut up. That was clever. It was. But Rayvon, you know, he like, lyricism is not the biggest part of the game no more. So when you get niggas like that, a lot of motherfuckers really don't even listen to him. But he can rap, Rayvon. Mm. A lot of niggas can rap. [00:24:22] Speaker A: Nobody don't wanna hear that shit, make a good song. [00:24:25] Speaker B: They wanna hear motherfuckers say, call me Mr. Ain't Gone. [00:24:28] Speaker A: That sound good. [00:24:28] Speaker B: Mr. Potscraper. Like that what they wanna hear, you know what I'm saying? Then joy comes with the finals from the jump, firing. Not a top dog. You more shih tzu. Like, that's the type of shit. But nobody see how I start into that shit, you know what I'm saying? Like, I'm into it like that, too. But nobody else. You know what I'm saying? Nobody else. [00:24:57] Speaker A: That wasn't it. You think that was clever? [00:24:59] Speaker B: Of course it is. [00:25:00] Speaker A: You not a top dog. You a shih tzu. [00:25:02] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:25:04] Speaker A: What if he would have said, you not a top dog, You Hong Kong fooly or some Hong Kong foodie. Was a dog. [00:25:12] Speaker B: Hong Kong was that, though. But his homeboy did all the dirty work. [00:25:17] Speaker A: What was his homeboy name? [00:25:19] Speaker B: The little cat. [00:25:19] Speaker A: He was a cat? [00:25:20] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:25:21] Speaker B: Yeah. He was the one that. That was making Hong Kong look good. He was the one solving the crime. [00:25:26] Speaker C: So what's your opinion on Raybone? [00:25:30] Speaker B: He can rap like that lyrical shit. Nobody don't really want to hear the lyrical shit no more. That's why Kendrick had such a bad rap for so long. That's why motherfuckers really don't like J. Cole. That's why Kanye talk shit about J. Cole. [00:25:42] Speaker A: Well, they don't like J. People just say J. Cole. Boring. [00:25:44] Speaker B: Yeah, but Kanye talk all that shit about him. Cause Kanye wish he could rap like that, nigga. You know what I'm saying? Like, that's it. Like, the boy can rape. And niggas that can't rap, like them, you know, don't like them. [00:25:56] Speaker A: And he make good songs, too. [00:25:58] Speaker B: And JCole make damn good songs. [00:26:01] Speaker C: I ain't lie here about Ra when he was on that leaker shit. [00:26:04] Speaker B: Yeah, you know what I'm saying? But see, that's that. That motherfucking rap like, he always could rap. I like la. Niggas don't want to hear that lyrical shit. [00:26:12] Speaker C: Cause there's some guy there now, I think his name Simba or some shit. [00:26:15] Speaker B: Simba, That's I We talk. Doogie got there. Me and Doogie had it out by him on the show last year. Yeah. Cause I told Doogie last year. [00:26:24] Speaker A: You showed us this last year. [00:26:25] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:26:26] Speaker A: Or two years ago. [00:26:26] Speaker B: Early part of last year when he. Cause he came to, like the summer of last year. Yeah. And it's been a while. Cause we was talking. Cause we was talking about the beef and shit. And I was like, simba can out rap. Most of these niggas is out right now. [00:26:44] Speaker A: Oh, and that when Doogie went on. [00:26:45] Speaker B: Yeah. He went on one of them rants. Yeah. Ain't nobody wanna hear that shit. [00:26:50] Speaker C: But that's crazy. Oh, fuckin year ago. [00:26:52] Speaker B: Yeah, that nigga. But Simba. Simba like that. Like lyrically, Simba is like that. He like that. Like that. Like that nigga fucking rap. Yeah. For real. For real. Yeah. Oh, and he went crazy on that shit. [00:27:03] Speaker C: He did. [00:27:04] Speaker B: He went absolutely fucking crazy on that shit. And I gotta talk about how broke you are to fix you up. I mean, I gotta talk about how. And I ain't gotta talk about how broke you are to fix you right when the beat dropped. Now compare Joey last lines to Ray. I know I wasn't gonna talk about your pockets, but. Hey, man, you need an optician just to see Ray Bans shit ain't too bad. [00:27:30] Speaker A: Who said that? Joey. Yeah, he can't. That ain't a fair fight. Cause Joey on a TV show. [00:27:36] Speaker B: Yeah. Joey got bread, like, you know what I'm saying? Joey won an Oscar. [00:27:40] Speaker A: He did? [00:27:41] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:27:42] Speaker A: For that short film. [00:27:44] Speaker B: Short film. Yeah. [00:27:45] Speaker A: That was good. I ain't even recognized. [00:27:46] Speaker B: Yeah. Not to mention the N said we bout to start. [00:27:51] Speaker A: Excuse me, y' all TD east. [00:27:53] Speaker B: Who said, like Joey Lil Brodin let me know what y' all think. Of course, I mean, but Joey. Joey been out rapping since 2000. Let's say he was like 15 or something like that. Yeah, like he been rapping. Like, the first song I ever heard from Joey Badass was Hard Knocks off his mixtape 1999. And he reminded me of Nas, like his delivery. [00:28:18] Speaker A: What's Joey last name? [00:28:20] Speaker B: Badass. He's not Jones. He's not a Jones. [00:28:24] Speaker A: I said, what's his last name? [00:28:25] Speaker B: Ass Badass. He's not a Joan Badass, but he always liked Joey raps. Like, remember I told you I got five on it? No. Prince Ice read my tweet online. I mean, on the radio about. I tweeted him about Joey Badass. Cause he was talking about, you know, why people prefer commercial rap over underground. And I Was like, that's because the N. S that can really rap, they not getting the radio played. I was like, thank God. I said, Joey Badass, one of the toughest rappers out here. And you don't ever hear songs on the radio. Him and Crit. Like, you never heard Crit until country shit came out. That was the first song I ever heard of Crit on the radio. [00:29:09] Speaker A: I'm trying to think of another Crit song. I forgot about country shit. But it got a different sound. It's more. [00:29:16] Speaker B: And then they didn't play it until he put Luda and Bun on it. [00:29:20] Speaker A: Mm. [00:29:21] Speaker B: That was the first time I ever heard that shit. Heard him on the radio. And Crit was. I'm talking about lyrically blessed. Like a dude different. He make his own beats. His song sound good. Him and David Banner, cool. You know what I'm saying? So I know Banner had his. You know, was giving him some kind of something, you know. And you saw Banner on. [00:29:48] Speaker A: What is it on Breakfast Club? [00:29:50] Speaker B: Drink Champs. [00:29:50] Speaker A: Drink Champs. I think I heard some of it. [00:29:53] Speaker B: Yeah. I gotta go watch the whole thing. [00:29:55] Speaker A: And see some of the stuff he be saying. [00:29:56] Speaker B: But of course not, man. God Body man. [00:30:01] Speaker A: No, especially the part about streaming. That one. I ain't really agree with the streaming part. [00:30:06] Speaker B: What did he say? [00:30:07] Speaker A: He was basically like, they gave the music away when they went to streaming. Whatever. Whatever. But you weren't gonna do nothing about that. Yeah, streaming was gonna come regardless. You weren't gonna create your own platform. [00:30:18] Speaker B: Limewire, Kaza, Cherbel, Share Bear. What was the first one? [00:30:24] Speaker A: Napster. [00:30:25] Speaker B: Napster. Them niggas. Them the ones shout out to High Star, man. Appreciate the email. We gonna. I'm gonna listen to them freestyles again. Cause you got me. I was just listening. I wasn't paying that much attention to it. So now I gotta go back and check the lines. [00:30:42] Speaker A: Yeah, you got to. [00:30:43] Speaker B: Yeah, I got to. [00:30:43] Speaker A: Out of all of us, you got to. [00:30:45] Speaker B: Yeah, I got to. [00:30:45] Speaker A: You the music joint. [00:30:46] Speaker B: Yeah, I got to. Cause that's that lyrical miracle shit. And, boy, I just. I've been listening. I was listening to it while I was working, so I wasn't really into it. Into it. I'mma pull that joint up. [00:30:56] Speaker A: The most I heard of that freestyle was on Joe Budden podcast, and I turned that off. I'm doing the trap. [00:31:03] Speaker B: Dicky the Red bullshit now. Him and O.J. the juice baby had me hyping the car. [00:31:08] Speaker A: Oh, that song they got. Yeah, he got Trapp. Got a lot of songs I be. [00:31:14] Speaker B: Fucking with, though, man. They Play that nigga on satellite radio. [00:31:17] Speaker A: For real. [00:31:17] Speaker B: Oh, man. [00:31:18] Speaker A: Yeah, that Juice man song. [00:31:20] Speaker B: Yeah, that shit stay in the rotation. [00:31:23] Speaker A: Excuse me, y' all. [00:31:24] Speaker B: And it's another song that they play of his. [00:31:28] Speaker A: Trap got some songs. [00:31:29] Speaker B: Yeah, he there. [00:31:30] Speaker A: Go trap. That's on Bluetooth. [00:31:32] Speaker B: The crazy shit is he can fucking rap. [00:31:34] Speaker A: Yeah, he can rap. [00:31:34] Speaker B: Yeah, he can rap like he can fucking rap. And I hope he just keep doing what he doing the way he doing it and don't change for no fucking body, bro. I just don't want him to change. Like, I don't want him to change. I want him to stay who he is right now. [00:31:50] Speaker A: He gonna have to change. [00:31:51] Speaker B: He gonna have to. [00:31:53] Speaker A: He's talking about killing and shit too much. [00:31:54] Speaker B: Yeah, but shit from Killerville, cuz. [00:31:58] Speaker A: Yeah, well, per him, he grew up in the raw, but he from the ville. [00:32:04] Speaker B: Oh, okay. So he grew up in the raw. [00:32:08] Speaker A: Mm. But he raised up in the ville. Now that song hard, too. [00:32:13] Speaker B: He still got family in Hartsville. [00:32:15] Speaker A: I'm sure he probably still do be in Hartsville, but that. [00:32:18] Speaker B: I'm sure he do. I'm sure he do, man. But yeah, man, so a lot of shit been going on since the last time we was here. Gonna touch on a couple things I ain't gonna talk about too much, but Diddy's trial. Of course. We just talked about this on your show, B. But a lot of people testifying. Kanye called Kid Cudi a snitch. [00:32:46] Speaker A: Somebody else called him a snitch, too. [00:32:48] Speaker B: Thug. [00:32:49] Speaker A: Thug. That's who I heard. That's who I saw. [00:32:52] Speaker B: Kanye said he wished Cudi wouldn't testify. Why? Cause Kanye. Kanye, man. Like, this dude got issues. He had motherfuckers doing a Nazi dance in LA and shit. Who? Kanye? Some niggas on side of the street. [00:33:09] Speaker A: Just like some random dudes. [00:33:11] Speaker B: Nah, some niggas that roll with him, evidently. [00:33:13] Speaker A: And they pay. I don't look at him in no kind of way. Cause I know he off mentally, but the people that be with him that be doing that dumb stuff, knowing he where he at. Yeah, people do anything for a little bit of money, bro. [00:33:25] Speaker B: So Kanye still doing. He up to his usual shenanigans, except we didn't talk about him coming, so. [00:33:36] Speaker A: I don't believe it. I know what you about to say. [00:33:37] Speaker B: But I don't believe it. I know you don't believe it. [00:33:39] Speaker C: Oh, too much. [00:33:40] Speaker B: Oh, man, he a dick sucker, man. [00:33:43] Speaker C: Man, we napping. [00:33:44] Speaker A: Hold up. [00:33:44] Speaker B: Yeah, man, we, dog. We ain't get a chance to come. [00:33:49] Speaker A: I was glad, too So I had to call him. [00:33:51] Speaker B: I said, hey, bro. I said, bro, do something, Dick. I said, I think that what wrong with him. I think that why he acting like that. Cause he want to suck dick, but he don't want motherfuckers to look at him sideways. [00:34:01] Speaker C: He miss suck a dick. [00:34:02] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:34:02] Speaker A: I don't think he ever did. I don't think he ever did it. I don't think he ever did it. [00:34:07] Speaker B: Evans. Evans a beat son. [00:34:11] Speaker A: He said he did it till he was 14. [00:34:13] Speaker C: Yeah, he like it. [00:34:14] Speaker A: Who? [00:34:15] Speaker B: He like that shit, man. And that's. [00:34:16] Speaker A: I think they probably was doing each other. [00:34:18] Speaker B: Probably they was 69. What you call it? Is it 69? [00:34:23] Speaker A: Nah, that's. [00:34:24] Speaker C: Yeah, like 69. [00:34:26] Speaker A: Two digits. Fuck. [00:34:30] Speaker B: Fuck, man. 66. [00:34:31] Speaker C: It's just a nest ass. [00:34:32] Speaker B: 99. [00:34:33] Speaker A: No, they say it's a thing called 68. [00:34:35] Speaker B: Oh. So it got to be. [00:34:42] Speaker C: On the real, though. We used 68 was us back in the day. [00:34:45] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. [00:34:47] Speaker C: We'll be almost riding Marine away. [00:34:50] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:34:52] Speaker C: I owe you one. [00:34:56] Speaker B: That's how. [00:34:57] Speaker A: I don't think. [00:34:58] Speaker B: I don't think. [00:34:58] Speaker A: Because somebody would have came out by now that Kanye done did some. [00:35:02] Speaker B: He say he did it to his cousin. Cousin in prison. [00:35:04] Speaker C: He enough. [00:35:07] Speaker B: His cousin in prison for killing a pregnant woman. And he said he wondered how much of the shit they did as children impacted him on doing that. [00:35:14] Speaker A: I wonder how old his cousin is. [00:35:15] Speaker B: His cousin younger than him. [00:35:17] Speaker A: How much younger? [00:35:17] Speaker C: About six years, ain't it? [00:35:19] Speaker B: I don't know if it's six or a couple years. [00:35:22] Speaker C: It ain't many. If it's six, six is the most. [00:35:26] Speaker B: He did it for six years. He did it from eight to 14. [00:35:29] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:35:29] Speaker B: So I'm thinking the little cousin might have been two years, two, three years younger than him. [00:35:33] Speaker C: Damn. [00:35:33] Speaker B: God. At the most. [00:35:38] Speaker A: But if he did that while his cousin, was that like. Cause when you 30 and somebody three years younger than you, that ain't a lot. But when you eight and somebody three years younger than you, you could take. It's a lot of advantage you could take over somebody that young. I'm hoping that then it didn't happen. [00:35:57] Speaker B: But hold up. [00:35:57] Speaker C: They kept going, though. [00:35:58] Speaker B: Yeah, he kept going. [00:35:59] Speaker A: But in the beginning, like, I know. I know a girl. [00:36:03] Speaker C: He sold it to him. [00:36:04] Speaker A: But no, I know a girl who was like 9 or 10 and her first sexual experience was like an older cousin like molesting her kind of like that. You know what I'm saying? And she grew up liking women. So if you do that to a little boy, he Left, he gonna feel good. But you know what I'm saying? He molested. So now his thought process is gonna be thrown off about it. Cause it feel good. We're supposed to be doing it feel good. But I'm gonna let you keep doing it. [00:36:36] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:36:36] Speaker A: You know what I'm saying? Like, Charlamagne was getting molested by older lady. [00:36:40] Speaker B: Older lady ain't good stuff. [00:36:44] Speaker A: Can't tell the smell. So even if he kept doing it for six years, hey, if she would. [00:36:51] Speaker B: Have done put that Jerry curl in her head, she would have still got there fucking with Charlamagne, right? [00:36:57] Speaker C: Okay. [00:36:58] Speaker B: God damn. So Kanye says that a lot of people said it was for. He had the album coming out. Bo, I'm telling you, that why that boy act like that, man. That why he act like that, bro. But he want, he want to live his truth, man. But he's scared how motherfucker go treat him. [00:37:17] Speaker A: He don't. Nah, he know his cousin was good to him. He needs. [00:37:21] Speaker C: He. He missed sucking it, man. [00:37:27] Speaker A: He need to be. He need to be on medicine, man. [00:37:32] Speaker B: Heavy, dude. [00:37:33] Speaker C: So fool, he needs something like, what is that? That slow you way down? I'm talking about. That's what they used to give, like super criminals or inmates, A lot of them, the cats who come home fucked up, let them throw them on some Thorzine. [00:37:54] Speaker B: He needs some of that then. Cause he all over the place, man. He is all over the place. And they need that Thorzine, man. It's so fucking entertaining. Cause like, when I read the tweet, I was like, this nigga tweeted this shit. Like, he really tweeted this shit. [00:38:11] Speaker C: I couldn't believe he did it. [00:38:12] Speaker A: I don't even pay nothing. [00:38:13] Speaker B: He said, I'm sorry, I X'd it. [00:38:15] Speaker A: Put it on X. I don't even pay nothing. He say, no more. [00:46:26] Speaker A: So it was one exchange that happened around the time of the beating. And they were saying where somebody who hungry? [00:46:36] Speaker C: That might be me. [00:46:37] Speaker A: Go ahead and eat an avoca. I thought somebody talking outside. Hold up, who's that? [00:46:48] Speaker C: There's a rumble in the Bronx. [00:46:50] Speaker A: JK family. And he was like, well, call the people up. And he was, you know, telling her, well, you need to hydrate and take care of yourself. And this, that, and the third. And you know what I'm saying? So it made it, you know, that part of it look bad for her. [00:47:14] Speaker B: Cause, like, you used to. This. This what you do. [00:47:18] Speaker A: And she was requesting it, and it wasn't like he mentioned it. [00:47:21] Speaker B: And then, you know, yeah, I wish. Just stay home. But no, you wanna be on his own. Cause you know he gonna have three other businesses after the thing, right? [00:47:31] Speaker A: But no. Well, no, this was just. It was something for her that she was going to. For her. [00:47:36] Speaker B: Oh. [00:47:38] Speaker A: And he was trying to get her to rest for her. But they say it was like around the time of that beating that happened that everybody saw. [00:47:54] Speaker B: It's more on that video. You saw what we saw. You just heard talk about it? Yeah. [00:47:58] Speaker A: What did they say about it? [00:47:59] Speaker B: They said it was a worse beating. Yeah, see, it was worse than what we saw. It's like worse happened. And I was. All I could think about was just, get the stairs. Y' all so bougie. Y' all don't even like taking stairs no more. You trying to run from a. You go to the elevator. [00:48:17] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:48:19] Speaker B: Where these bitch come from, man? [00:48:20] Speaker A: Like, maybe she. Well, she probably didn't think he was gonna run after him. Cause he ain't had no clothes on, man. [00:48:41] Speaker B: But he was. I'm talking about, man, that shit wasn't even right, man. But he already paid for that. So them showing that in court is like, that's some wild shit. [00:48:52] Speaker A: Not just to paint a picture of who he is, really. [00:48:54] Speaker B: Yeah, I know. [00:48:55] Speaker A: But that brother Love shit. [00:48:57] Speaker B: Yeah, we know he tried to change his Persona, but it was just a little too late. [00:49:02] Speaker A: Take care of your family. [00:49:08] Speaker A: She called his brother. [00:49:09] Speaker B: But if you know, you that type of motherfucker, that's the shit you gotta do. You gotta pay, you gotta pay to play. If you that type of nigga and you doing that type of shit. Yeah, if a motherfucker, whatever they ask you for, you better come up off it, boy, this shit gonna blow up. This blew up, right? [00:49:23] Speaker A: Well, sometimes though, you can't pay all the time. Cause then they gonna keep coming back. Keep coming back. [00:49:27] Speaker B: Man, I had that bitch on a yearly stipend. The shit he did to her, man, that shouldn't have to worry about shit the rest of her life. If she was gonna keep it quiet. [00:49:38] Speaker A: She did, but she would have. I wonder if it wouldn't matter whether or not he paid her or not. The feds was gonna come after him anyway. [00:49:46] Speaker B: That's a good question. [00:49:47] Speaker A: Cause I wonder if it was all just like a coincidence. [00:49:50] Speaker B: I don't know. I don't know if she got that ball rolling or not. But that's a fucking. That's some shit we'll never know. [00:49:58] Speaker A: Cause even you remember that guy, it was a white guy that was supposed to be like the drug getter dude. He got arrested on a plane and he started talking. [00:50:09] Speaker B: Uh huh. [00:50:10] Speaker A: I can't remember if that happened after Cassie or before Cassie. I wanna say it happened after the Cassie thing. No, matter of fact, it happened after Cassie got the money. I don't know if it was before the video came out, but it was after the lawsuit. [00:50:23] Speaker B: It was after the lawsuit. Cause they was starting to fuck with him. Yeah, they was starting to fuck with him. [00:50:28] Speaker A: So I wonder if that dude getting arrested was the thing that really did. Yeah. [00:50:32] Speaker B: Cause that motherfucker had some dope on him. [00:50:34] Speaker A: He had. [00:56:30] Speaker A: He just did too much shit. Like, even before he got locked up, before the trial. [00:56:33] Speaker B: Yeah, I did too much shit talking. [00:56:35] Speaker A: He made a album. [00:56:36] Speaker B: He did. He. [00:56:37] Speaker A: He was too. [00:56:38] Speaker B: He was playing in their face. [00:56:39] Speaker A: He too goofy with it. [00:56:40] Speaker B: Yeah, he was playing in their face, too goofy with it. Like, y' all. Motherfucker can't touch Me, I ain't do shit, so I know I'm gonna get off. That's basically what he was on. [00:56:46] Speaker A: And I don't know. I mean, I don't know how old he is, but that's just some goofy shit, I guess. That how you get there? Cause they do corny niggas in Canada. They do some corny shit. [00:56:54] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:56:55] Speaker A: You know what I'm saying? [00:56:56] Speaker B: Yeah. But. Yeah, man, he. I don't think he did it, but you in there, buddy. [00:57:02] Speaker A: Yeah, it was one guy. I keep remembering this one guy was a neighbor. He was like. He saw somebody, like, discharging a gun in the air of Tory's stature or whatever. So I always think that he took the gun from the girls and was shooting it in the air to get all the bullets out the gun. [00:57:18] Speaker B: That's what I always thought, too. Till Kelce's bodyguard said the shit he said. [00:57:24] Speaker A: And fuck him, too. Cause why didn't you go on the stand and say that shit when this man. Life on the line. [00:57:29] Speaker B: He got three years, but he was just the driver for her during court. [00:57:34] Speaker A: Oh, so he wasn't there? [00:57:35] Speaker B: No, he was just driving for. He heard her tell her husband this on the phone. [00:57:40] Speaker A: That ain't. [00:57:40] Speaker B: He said he heard her tell her husband and other people that shit. [00:57:43] Speaker A: That ain't gonna hold up in court. [00:57:44] Speaker B: I know it ain't gonna hold up in court, but my thing is that's what the fuck I. I knew she shot that girl. When she got immunity. When she got immunity as that bitch running. When she got on stand and pleaded the Fifth, I said, yes, sir. I said she did it. That's just how I feel. [00:58:00] Speaker A: Well, Torrey should have. [00:58:01] Speaker B: He should have said that. I'm gonna feel like that about it, like I wasn't there. I don't know what really happened. But me being a man that has dealt with multiple women at the same time. [00:58:12] Speaker A: But still, even if she get immunity. [00:58:16] Speaker B: Who else you know in the world? [00:58:18] Speaker A: Well, I wonder why she got immunity, though. [00:58:21] Speaker B: So her ass wouldn't go to jail for shooting that girl. [00:58:23] Speaker A: But who cares, though? Like, if they can prove she did it, then she would be the one. Cause who brought charges up against him, against Tory? [00:58:32] Speaker B: I think the state picked it up. [00:58:34] Speaker A: So the state really wouldn't care who get arrested as long as somebody get arrested for the shooting. [00:58:38] Speaker B: Exactly. That's why she. When she went in there to talk, she was like, I need immunity, man. Yeah. I can't. [00:58:45] Speaker A: Did she ever talk? She pleaded the fifth, so she never said her part ended or nothing. [00:58:52] Speaker B: No, I'm telling you, dawg. [00:58:54] Speaker A: So I'm saying. So what I'm saying is, like, why did she get immunity if she plead the fifth? [00:59:00] Speaker B: She plead the fifth during trial. She had immunity before the trial. [00:59:04] Speaker A: That's what I'm saying. Like, if you get immunity, then I can say, well, I did this, this, this, and this. [00:59:10] Speaker B: And they can't. [00:59:11] Speaker A: And they not gonna do nothing. Cause you gotta. [00:59:13] Speaker B: She didn't want nobody to know she shot her best friend by the nigga she was fucking. Cause she was married. [00:59:18] Speaker A: No, but what I'm saying is. What I'm saying is that shit's simple. But no, no, what I'm saying is there's no need for her to either get immunity and plead the Fifth. [00:59:32] Speaker B: Yes, it is. Because she didn't want nobody to know she shot her best friend by the nigga she was fucking and she was married. [00:59:39] Speaker A: No, but what I'm saying is. What I'm saying is, if she gonna plead the fifth, it ain't no need for her to have immunity. [00:59:44] Speaker B: Exactly. But she had immunity in case Tor decided to say that. Bitch, I didn't shoot her. She did. That's why she needed the immunity. [00:59:53] Speaker A: Did she say Tor did it? Did she ever say Tory did it? [00:59:57] Speaker B: I don't remember. I don't remember. Like, that's the thing. [01:00:01] Speaker A: Didn't he pay her, like, $100,000 to be quiet or some shit? [01:00:05] Speaker B: No, I don't think so. He may have tried to, or maybe he did, but I thought she got. [01:00:13] Speaker A: Some money from somewhere. [01:00:14] Speaker B: She probably did. [01:00:14] Speaker A: Ain't no teacher, I think. Nah, I'm just, You know. Cause this was. [01:00:17] Speaker B: She could have got 100,000 from Meg. Lawyers. [01:00:20] Speaker A: It was a long time ago, and I don't care. Yeah, I really. [01:00:26] Speaker B: Yeah. It's just been all over the place this week. [01:00:28] Speaker A: Especially them people. Cause they. All of them acting stupid. Meg need to stay off of social media. The only one who really ain't acting stupid is her. Cause she did a smart thing. [01:00:38] Speaker B: Shut the fuck up. [01:00:38] Speaker A: She got quiet. [01:00:39] Speaker B: Yeah. Shut the fuck up. Just shut the fuck up. [01:00:42] Speaker C: Best thing she could do. [01:00:43] Speaker B: That's all you can do, is shut the fuck up, man. All right, we gonna shoot back down. Enough court talk, man. Really. [01:00:54] Speaker A: I don't care about none of these. I want y' all to come buy a car. [01:01:01] Speaker B: You know, buy cars. When they see celebrities riding, see what kind of car did it riding in, back and forth the court. [01:01:08] Speaker A: Something we don't got. We got a whole bunch of Toyotas. That probably was a Chevy. [01:01:11] Speaker B: That nigga ain't riding his shit. And they going from upstairs, downstairs in a van. Yeah, you know he in a van shackled up in there. [01:01:19] Speaker A: Down transfer. Oh. Oh, yeah. [01:01:20] Speaker B: He might be in the same place as the courthouse. Shit. [01:01:23] Speaker A: Oh no, he on Rikers. [01:01:25] Speaker B: Oh, no, you should. I thought he was in Manhattan. [01:01:28] Speaker A: No, what, what, what's the. What's the jail in New York where they be having people at for a long time? Rikers Island, Right, he was at Rikers Island. [01:01:37] Speaker B: I thought he was in Manhattan. He's somewhere. It don't matter his ass locked up, as long as he get the courting. [01:01:43] Speaker A: Back, he ain't going to angry chicken when he get through like me. [01:01:51] Speaker B: All right, man, we gonna go on back in the day, touch on a couple dope ass albums that came out. I got 20, 25 and 30 years. Of course, you know my 30 year list long. Cause I've been trying to get in. That's how I know I ain't been in here in a month. Cause last time, on my last. Our last show, I said we was gonna do Mobb Deep the next week and that shit was on 428. That's how I know it's been a month. But I'm gonna start with 20 years. Memph. Bleak dropped 534. You remember that album B. Lo? [01:02:34] Speaker A: Don't disrespect me like that, not with. [01:02:37] Speaker B: That shit on your head, right? Don't disrespect me like that, not with that shit on your head. You remember the album B Love? [01:02:44] Speaker A: Yep. [01:02:44] Speaker B: You do? Yeah. [01:02:46] Speaker A: That had Ron Hill on there. [01:02:48] Speaker B: Uh oh, he remember who had the hardest verse on Ron Hill. [01:02:54] Speaker A: Mm. I like all of them for different reasons. They might be kind of even. Trick had a hoe and Tip had a hard one. [01:03:03] Speaker B: You know, they did like a mega remix to that joint. Had like 30 people on it. [01:03:07] Speaker A: Oh my God. [01:03:11] Speaker B: I like T I car in that motherfucker, right? Chevy with them ghost flames and them big wheels on them spindles on it and shit. TI had the hardest. [01:03:22] Speaker A: Well, I don't see around here on this. [01:03:27] Speaker B: That gotta be the one. [01:03:30] Speaker A: No, around here might not be on this album. [01:03:33] Speaker B: Gotta be around here made. [01:03:36] Speaker A: It might be on May. [01:03:37] Speaker B: It might be on made. Okay, so what was on there is that. [01:03:42] Speaker A: Yeah, around here was on Made. Dear Summer was on this. [01:03:46] Speaker B: Okay, that's the one. [01:03:48] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:03:49] Speaker B: Cause Jay took that and went crazy. [01:03:53] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:03:55] Speaker B: This summer I know you gonna miss me. This shit was featuring Jay Z and it was his song. [01:04:15] Speaker A: Bleak ain't on this song I know. [01:04:17] Speaker B: That was the Wild Bleak. Wasn't even on it. [01:04:20] Speaker A: Jay did that on a couple songs like. Well, no, it's all right. Bleak is on that song. Yeah, but he did it on Beanie Siegel album with. What's that song? Anything. [01:04:32] Speaker B: Yeah, which album? [01:04:33] Speaker C: This song. [01:04:35] Speaker B: 534-534. [01:04:36] Speaker A: The one he talking about. [01:04:38] Speaker B: Yeah, came out 05. [01:04:44] Speaker C: The only song I got on the album. [01:04:47] Speaker B: That's the dopest song on them my guy dropped. Common Drop Beat is in this time. 2005 too. [01:05:02] Speaker A: He doing a. [01:05:05] Speaker B: A re release, huh? As he should. Because when I tell you Kanye did comment the absolute greatest on this album. [01:05:20] Speaker C: Let's see, what did they say? [01:05:22] Speaker B: Yeah, that's out. That's. That's on this album. The Food, the Corner, Go Testify, Faithful. The whole album was like. I used to listen to this from COVID to cover. [01:05:32] Speaker A: On his re release on streaming, he got number. Then he got instrumentals on there, too. So it's the album, then the instrumentals. [01:05:37] Speaker B: Okay. That's what they usually do. I like that too, cuz. Outkast did it too, for atl. Yeah, but this album, man, Kanye went bananas on the production, cuz. Remember, they did the food on Dave Chappelle. Dave Chappelle show. [01:06:03] Speaker A: This is the animal. Oh, they did a live one too. [01:06:08] Speaker B: I'll tell you this one. Kanye was in his bag. His beats that testified. Faithful testify. [01:06:17] Speaker A: Testify was a dick. That testified was hard. [01:06:24] Speaker B: And that they say. [01:06:28] Speaker A: He had Taraji. [01:06:29] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, that video was dope. [01:06:30] Speaker A: She probably ain't got paid. [01:06:31] Speaker B: Video was dope. [01:06:32] Speaker C: Just that they say right here, right? [01:06:34] Speaker B: No, this will testify. They say he. And then he done flip on John Legend, too. [01:06:42] Speaker C: What album that was on? [01:06:44] Speaker B: They say. [01:06:45] Speaker C: No, that testified. [01:06:46] Speaker B: This right here on. Go On B Dog. My homeboy shout out to Aaron. My homeboy, Aaron Jenkins. Aaron brought this album. He was into music. He was a rapper. Like, he wrote music for Disney shows and all kind of shit when we was in college. So he. He brought this album and brought it in the crib one day. He's like, jones, you gotta listen to this shit. Listened to the motherfucker. Took it up in my room, played it, had it banging throughout the crib. I mean, we down there playing the game and shit, you know. I was like, hey, man, you either gotta make me a copy of it or you gotta give it to me one of the two. So he gave me that one and went and brought him another one. I was like, my man, this album was so hard that this right here, Kanye went crazy with this beat. And Common was like. Common had gone back to a like. Because we had just. He came out to knit hats and like, this was Common. This who I knew was Common. All that electric circus and like, I went with all that. You know what I'm saying? This is fucking. I used to love her. Common right here. It's that type, you know what I'm saying? And he didn't have too many features on this. Kanye was only featured rap wise. But yeah, everybody, you know, John Legend, John Mayer, Kanye, you know, like, it wasn't no art, no rappers on this with him. But this was a dope ass album. Shout out to common for that one. 25 years. I had to do this one. Cause 2000. Eminem dropped the Marshall Mathers LP. I know you don't want to talk about that one. [01:08:50] Speaker A: What's on here? [01:08:51] Speaker B: Marshall Mathers? [01:08:53] Speaker A: I'm trying. Let me see. Oh, this one? [01:08:56] Speaker B: Yeah. Damn. [01:08:58] Speaker A: This was 2000. [01:09:02] Speaker B: Stand the Way I Am. [01:09:04] Speaker A: Oh, this was the second album, huh? [01:09:11] Speaker B: Oh, don't worry. Wait till you hit that please. You gonna put it on your. [01:09:18] Speaker A: Please, too. Same beat. Oh, no. [01:09:22] Speaker B: Yeah. What up, Detroit? You right here. This is my. [01:09:27] Speaker A: I like the regular one. [01:09:28] Speaker B: No, I do. I like the regular one too, but I used to bang this right here. [01:09:42] Speaker A: Dre do a lot of that. Make it the same beat. Switch it up a little bit. [01:09:49] Speaker B: That's it. Him and Timber. They do the same. Yeah, that's what they do. Goddamn. That stand, though. That stand took that to stratospheres we didn't even think was possible. [01:10:18] Speaker A: He was already there. [01:10:19] Speaker B: He was already there, but it took him a little further some kind of way. [01:10:23] Speaker A: That video. [01:10:24] Speaker B: Oh, the video. [01:10:24] Speaker A: He created a phrase. I mean, a term for super fans. [01:10:31] Speaker B: Crazy. And I watched 8 Mile the other day. [01:10:36] Speaker C: Really? [01:10:38] Speaker B: Just. And I'll talk. Turn to it. Right on time. Somebody said just got a lot of ass. Pause. [01:10:43] Speaker A: One of them. It was one of them battles. It was like Slim, that Eminem really lost that battle in that movie. [01:10:49] Speaker B: Probably the one. The lotto. [01:10:50] Speaker A: Yeah, they were saying he really did lose. Like he ain't really won. [01:10:53] Speaker B: Yeah. Cause they did the count. They did the clap twice for that one. [01:10:56] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. I thought that must be his one. [01:10:59] Speaker B: Lotto. Lotto went off on him. [01:11:00] Speaker A: I only watched that video. I only watched that movie once. [01:11:03] Speaker B: Really? [01:11:03] Speaker A: And I got the gist of it. You, you like. You watch it a lot? [01:11:14] Speaker B: If I catch the end of it. [01:11:15] Speaker A: You never watched it, you say, Yeah, I watched it. [01:11:17] Speaker C: I just like it. Cuz of the Deep song. [01:11:19] Speaker B: Yeah. What's that? Goddamn. What's that? [01:11:22] Speaker C: Come on. [01:11:25] Speaker B: That go crazy, man. [01:11:29] Speaker C: Now that you say that. Lotto did him up. [01:11:32] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [01:11:35] Speaker B: T shirt screaming lotto. I don't fit you. [01:11:39] Speaker A: Was it tight? [01:11:40] Speaker B: Yeah. Y' all the wife be with? Oh, hell yeah, man. Shout out to him and still relevant. Got his own. I'm Talking about shade 45. Been going since. [01:11:52] Speaker A: Yeah, that is right. [01:11:53] Speaker B: And he keep on. They rolling and rolling and rolling. All right, so now we get to have a good time real quick. May 16, 2000, the big timers drop. I got that word. What you know about that, B? Love. [01:12:13] Speaker A: What are you talking about? [01:12:13] Speaker B: What you know about that? [01:12:14] Speaker A: What are you talking about? [01:12:15] Speaker B: This is bike. We ever got down 2000 with number one stunner. Get your roll on. Which one you listen to the most? Cause number one Stunner had the hardest beat in the world. [01:12:26] Speaker A: What was it called? B. Thomas. Let me see. [01:12:34] Speaker B: I got that CD in the car. [01:12:36] Speaker A: There we go. [01:12:36] Speaker B: God damn it. [01:12:37] Speaker C: I got that word. [01:12:39] Speaker A: Number one stunner was hard. [01:12:47] Speaker B: Introduction to buttons and 2000. I just finished my first year of college, my first child on the way. I just went and bought me a 88 box Chevy Capri and I was working at Walmart distribution center in Paisley. All that going on. [01:13:28] Speaker A: Which one? He was like, oh, I'm thinking about neck of the woods. What's it. What album is that on? [01:13:34] Speaker B: That's mystical. [01:13:37] Speaker A: No, they don't know. [01:13:39] Speaker B: Oh, you the only neck of the woods I know is mystical and outcast. [01:13:44] Speaker A: No, this right here. [01:13:51] Speaker B: Oh, this. This went crazy at bike. We did it. [01:13:54] Speaker C: Get your roll. [01:13:55] Speaker A: I went both of these songs. [01:13:57] Speaker B: I went to Daytona for black college reunion that year, so I didn't go to bike week. I ain't never been to bike week, so I don't know nothing about it. Well, I beat down State campus 100 times with this one. That beat was so hard and Them wrapped their ass off on this mother. [01:14:48] Speaker A: I'm gonna have to listen to this again because it is a hard life. [01:14:50] Speaker B: We live the day by day, Drama. We heard Stripes from Killing Attack. [01:14:56] Speaker A: That's a line in Juvenile. [01:15:02] Speaker B: This is my. Right here, baby. I don't know who was writing his rhyme. He was the worst. [01:17:45] Speaker A: Headed to the park. This the Wayne I used to like right here. [01:18:00] Speaker B: Rapping ass way. I think I know what I'm listening to on my way home. Yeah, I think I know what I'm listening to all the way home today. [01:18:10] Speaker A: What? It was a song I said. Yeah, it was on another album. [01:18:15] Speaker B: You said neck of the woods. [01:18:16] Speaker A: Neck of the woods. I told you when I play this, you're gonna be like, oh, now this is my shit only. [01:18:23] Speaker B: Neck of the woods. I remember. I told you what I remember. [01:18:27] Speaker A: I'm trying to think of whose song it was on, though. [01:18:30] Speaker C: Oh, that was on. [01:18:33] Speaker A: Here we go. [01:18:33] Speaker C: Fast Money. [01:18:37] Speaker A: You remember this song right here with. [01:18:39] Speaker C: Me on Fast Money? [01:18:41] Speaker B: I do remember this. [01:18:42] Speaker A: Yeah, this is my. Right here. This came out. Another bike we get off. [01:18:49] Speaker B: Yeah, I do remember that. [01:18:52] Speaker A: And like a dog when the song came out, Gilmore was like, stunting Like a dog. It was like, what? This is the shit right here, though. [01:19:01] Speaker B: I do remember that this year, dude. [01:19:03] Speaker A: This year, Bike Week, when this came out, for some reason, all of us had like Yukons and Tahoes. We went down there, we went to this hotel. We was like five Tahoes deep and shit. We go to this hotel. Styles peeing. Them boys standing outside, we pulling up deep. Niggas like, damn, yo, I like your shirt. I had a Tommy Hilfiger shirt on. Looked like I had a town inside. Like, yo, that's a hard shirt, son. You know how them n talk. I like. [01:19:29] Speaker C: Thank you. [01:19:30] Speaker A: I didn't know what to say. Compliment the shirt. I knew what to say. [01:19:34] Speaker B: So they used to compliment. [01:19:36] Speaker A: Yeah. So all us get in the trucks and we about to put. It was that big ass hotel, that big ass pink hotel that was like off the strip, like in the cause a lot. But anyway, Kingston. It might be Kingston Plantation or something like that. So we about to pull off a. Everybody stop playing Jadakiss because we had. We had CDs. Wasn't no streaming. [01:19:54] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:19:54] Speaker A: So I would. The only lock we had was Jada Kids. Everybody playing Jadakiss leaving. He was like. Threw his head over. Yeah, but that was. That was that year when this right here came up. Yeah, this was like 0405. Yeah, something like that. But anyway, were you still on 20 years? [01:20:13] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, that's it for. No, that's 25 now. [01:20:15] Speaker A: We at 30. [01:20:16] Speaker B: Yep. I'm just gonna touch on a couple albums, then I'm gonna jump in. I got a few minutes to jump in that joint post Friday soundtrack came out since our last show. Yep, Friday soundtrack dropped. New Jersey Drive dropped the second CD to there. To their movie. Movie. Yeah, they had. They did a double. Which one. [01:20:42] Speaker A: Which one had Outcast on it? The first one. Okay, what was on the second one? Well, give me a good one off your head. [01:20:50] Speaker B: But yeah, this Friday soundtrack had that. Kate. I can't remember, but it was a song on there I used to love. What, Heads Ain't Ready, Boot Camp, Click. Nobody Beats the biz on Friday. No, this on New Jersey Drive. I'm getting to go to Friday now. Keep your heads ringing. [01:21:16] Speaker A: Of course, a lot of the songs on the Friday soundtrack is not on here, cuz. [01:21:22] Speaker B: Yeah, I know. [01:21:23] Speaker A: I guess there was a old. Old school songs or whatever, maybe, huh? This right here made me think of eel. [01:21:32] Speaker B: Trying to see another day. Goddamn it. [01:21:34] Speaker A: Smokey, Smokey, smoke Let me pull up to the store. [01:21:40] Speaker B: This song wasn't even on the album either. [01:21:42] Speaker A: What? [01:21:44] Speaker B: It was in the movie. Hold up. [01:21:49] Speaker A: On what? Friday. New Jersey Drive on Friday. [01:21:58] Speaker B: No, it was a. A rap song that was in the movie, but it wasn't on the soundtrack. [01:22:04] Speaker A: You remember the scene. [01:22:08] Speaker B: When they were sitting in there on the couch when old girl came to the crib? [01:22:12] Speaker A: Oh, it's a smoking song. [01:22:14] Speaker B: No, it wasn't a smoking song. It was. Yeah, what was the name? Because I used to watch the video on Rap City. [01:22:30] Speaker A: I found another one. It got all of the songs on it. The alcohols. [01:22:39] Speaker B: No, it wasn't alcohol. It's. [01:22:41] Speaker C: It's. [01:22:41] Speaker B: What is the name, man? [01:22:46] Speaker A: No, this happened when this song was on. When they was running from the shooter. The shootout. Yeah. Starface got a song on here. Threat letting know it might be Tash. [01:23:06] Speaker C: Might be what? [01:23:11] Speaker B: Names. [01:23:14] Speaker A: You might have to look at the score. Look up the score. [01:23:18] Speaker B: That was my. Right there, too. [01:23:22] Speaker A: Trying to think of what happened on this part. This was playing when they was on the port smoking and they was doing. Going through all that. [01:23:28] Speaker B: Worm would come in the ice cream truck. [01:23:30] Speaker A: Okay. I remember when I first figured out that was Megan Good playing the little girl. [01:23:37] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:23:37] Speaker A: I was like, hold up. That look like Megan Good. And I went to looking. I was trying to figure out who that boy was, too, man. I hate him, man. No, no, no. That's what Megan Good said. The little boy was like, can I get my money back? He called for his mama. [01:23:58] Speaker B: What is the name of the song? Roll It Up, Light It Up, Smoke it up was on that. That was on there. [01:24:08] Speaker A: It's crazy. That movie is a classic. It's almost 40 years old. No, 30 years old. It is 30 years old. And I was watching that early this morning. And, like, they. They look so young, right? And there's a lot of people in that movie that died. [01:24:26] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. And they talking about doing another one. So I don't know how that's gonna work. [01:24:33] Speaker A: I mean, that could be part of the plot. [01:24:37] Speaker B: I cannot remember that name. [01:24:39] Speaker A: Debo ain't gonna be in it. He don't have to be in it because he wasn't in the last one. Yeah, the daddy. That could be part of the plot that he died. Ezel died. Who else died? That was in Friday. [01:24:59] Speaker B: Burning Mac. [01:25:00] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, Bernie Mac. But he wasn't in none of the other two either. Is that it? [01:25:08] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. I can't. I got. I'm gonna have to find that song and I have it for the next time. Cause I can't remember the nigga name. But he was in A video. He had on a vest, a long sleeve shirt and a kango. Cause they was watching the video when Devin knocked on the door and the song was playing. [01:25:25] Speaker A: Mm, Go ahead, talk amongst yourself. [01:25:29] Speaker B: But yeah. Friday soundtrack New Jersey Drive soundtrack Naughty By Nature, Drop Poverty's paradise and Feel Me Flo was on that. That was my joint from that summer. From the summer of 95. Cause MTV Jams was playing the hell out of that shit Master H dropped sitting on Chrome. June, do you remember that shit sitting. [01:25:58] Speaker A: On C H R O M E? [01:26:03] Speaker B: That was my shit. Cause Inc. Ride was my song off that album though. This it right? What's his name? [01:26:13] Speaker A: I just went to the movie. [01:26:14] Speaker B: He don't give a program. It's about 10 to 5. He got on what I said he had. All right. Yeah. I'm telling you, they used to play that on Rap City. I used to like that song. [01:26:30] Speaker A: I can't believe this came out in 95. Yeah, bro. [01:26:32] Speaker B: 30 years. [01:26:36] Speaker C: 30 years. [01:26:36] Speaker B: 30 years, man. And this shit still funny. [01:26:41] Speaker C: Yeah, still get play. [01:26:42] Speaker B: Yeah, still funny as hell. [01:26:45] Speaker A: I'll tell you. I was just watching this. [01:26:46] Speaker B: This? Yeah, that shit been on Stars all weekend. All week. [01:26:50] Speaker A: That's probably what I was watching. [01:26:51] Speaker B: They've been on Stars all week. They've been playing all of them. [01:26:53] Speaker A: Like the clothes and like the cars and stuff. It don't really date the movie too much. Cause the west coast style is always. [01:27:02] Speaker B: A West coast style. [01:27:03] Speaker A: Exactly like East Coast. Them niggas would have had on baggy ass clothes, looking dumb as hell. [01:27:08] Speaker B: Yeah, it would have looked different. Yeah, but N still wear flannels and fucking Nike, Cortez and fucking Chuck Taylor. [01:27:14] Speaker A: Cause I'm gonna tell you what was on. Ice Cube had on forces though. He had on black forces with a white swoosh. State Property was on at the same time as this. And it was that scene where Beans was handing out rings. It was so corny. It was so corny. And them clothes was so big. Everybody had on Rockaware that. Rockaware was so big. [01:27:35] Speaker C: Huge. [01:27:36] Speaker A: Huge ass Rockaway. [01:27:37] Speaker B: Huge, man. But yeah, man, shout out to. I'm gonna find out the name of that song. I can't remember the name. Did they have the name? They had the name of the song. [01:27:44] Speaker A: No, it was a clip from the movie. [01:27:45] Speaker B: Okay, yeah, yeah. I'm gonna find out the name of the song and I'm gonna bring that next week. I'll be back next week. [01:27:51] Speaker A: God damn it, Wesley. [01:27:52] Speaker B: Yeah, see Negative B over there? [01:27:55] Speaker A: No, he'll be here. He'll be Here. [01:27:57] Speaker B: Yeah. Negative ass nigga. Oh, here he go. [01:27:59] Speaker A: Shout out to Yoshi. [01:28:01] Speaker B: There you go. But yeah, like I said, Master stage dropped sitting on Chrome Inc. Ride was my favorite song off that album. Cause he sampled Isley Brothers, Naughty By Nature, did Poverty's paradise. And what I said was on there. [01:28:29] Speaker A: Something they played on MTV a lot. [01:28:32] Speaker B: Feel Me Flow. [01:28:32] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, that's. [01:28:34] Speaker B: They was on the. They was snowboarding. Yeah, all that. [01:28:37] Speaker A: They did play that a lot on MTV in the summertime. [01:28:41] Speaker B: Yeah. Cause it was. I mean it was a summer song, but it was. [01:28:46] Speaker A: They was in. [01:28:47] Speaker B: Yeah, they was in the mountains and though. Yeah. They just went, oh, that was my shit off. [01:28:53] Speaker A: You had to have a hole in your video. I mean your song back then. [01:28:56] Speaker B: You had to. You had to. And of course the one I've been waiting to talk about was Mobb Deep. The infamous. But yeah, Naughty By Nature, Tretch Till this Day is one of the most underrated rap. And he might be one of the most underrated rapper turned actors. I mean, but he don't ever go outside his box or. I mean. No, he go outside his box. But I don't think nobody really want to give him the chance that he deserved. I saw them boys on there. I was watching Living Single the other day. They was on there. [01:29:42] Speaker A: All of them. [01:29:43] Speaker B: Oh yeah. [01:29:43] Speaker A: Cause they was from New Jersey. [01:29:44] Speaker B: Yeah. And you know, they always on the same label. Yeah, they was all cool with Latifah and shit. So. But yeah, shout out to Naughty Master Ace. But Mobb Deep and this infamous album. April 25, 1995, forever changed hip hop because they was too little that talked a whole lot of across some hard ass beats. And man, they did it at a high clip. This album. The beats on this was just so grimy. [01:30:27] Speaker C: It was. [01:30:28] Speaker B: They was just gritty. Like it just had that. That New York feel. And that's. That's why be like. You know them Griselda and sound like. But Alchemists and Havoc them did so much together back then. Till it kind of just became the sound. It wasn't that they created. That's just what it was. Cause Rizza sounds do you have all the same type of instrumentation in his. Like the tapping, the horns and like he have that same. So it's just the New York sound. But this just was so man, it'd be. Man, this make anybody go get. If you can't. If you don't move to this. It's something wrong with your goddamn soul. I don't give a. If you listen to the word if the beat just come on this, you gotta move to this. God damn that shit. Just do something. Something to you, man. I swear, dog. Make sure. You used to give me goosebumps. Like when this used to come up before all the streaming and before you could go in the CD store and order a CD for them to like. I couldn't go in the store and just buy a Mob Deep album. So in 2000, 2001, when I'm looking for it, you can only listen to it on Sundays when they playing Old School on radio. They what? They had Throwback Thursdays on Rap Scene. [01:31:59] Speaker A: Oh, you mean after, like later on? [01:32:00] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. So when you want to hear it, you can't hear it unless you got it. And I didn't have it, cuz I lost it in the transition from high school to college. I had to go buy all that over, you know what I'm saying? Cuz I left some home and my mama got down, got hold to it and God knows where it went. So, you know, just want to hear. And man, this used to come on the radio. Dice get goosebumps, something. Damn that be. I'm like, God damn this. [01:32:24] Speaker A: Y' all don't love music like Jones, man. [01:32:27] Speaker B: It's a. It's. It's a lot of songs that do that to me. It's a lot of songs that do that to me. Give me goosebumps, yo. Like, that beat just. It's God damn. Then I just start thinking about where I was when this was going. You know what I'm saying? Like, me and Quint D shout out to Q. We just rid this here. [01:32:45] Speaker C: But I ain't seen that name, man. [01:32:47] Speaker B: We used to. To ride in this album, cuz he used to have his mom. He got his license before me, so his mom would let him get a call. I used to be at that house. Damn there every weekend. [01:32:58] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:32:59] Speaker B: So we ride around all weekend. Two, three dollars worth of gas. We just ride this. You know what I'm saying? Like that how it was. They take much get $20 on the day back in nine. 95. That 96. Think about it. This September, October 95. Freshman. I just met these like. And I met him and Daniel them. And I was out there in that country a lot after football season. I was with them boys all the time. And me and that used to play the out this. And we used to play. We used to ride skate Rank Sundays. Like all that. This we was listening to most of the time and was just the good old days, man. The good old days. But my song on his Give up the Goods. That's my favorite song on here. Of course he. They had Nas and Ghost and Ray on this. [01:33:59] Speaker A: Oh, I like how they do it. They got an animation on. On title. [01:34:03] Speaker B: Huh. That's that annoyed that rap on this. That was always underrated to me. But he was on all the albums. Who knew it, huh? Rapper noise. [01:34:17] Speaker C: When we was. Because I played it a few times. But what spin off of them gonna be. [01:34:25] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Because like I don't know what. How they even classify these. Cause they. [01:34:34] Speaker C: Because like usually when I play an album, whatever, when it finished it play some similar. Yeah. And it'd be smooth. I remember the first time I put like, damn, they went to this. [01:34:45] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:34:46] Speaker A: Oh, on Spotify. [01:34:47] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:34:47] Speaker A: That's why I with Tidal, I do Apple title. [01:34:51] Speaker B: Like Strictly Apple or something T. Different. You can, you can do. You can get title. [01:34:56] Speaker A: Okay. [01:34:56] Speaker B: Yeah, you can download time. It's titled just like Spotify. Yeah, same. [01:35:00] Speaker A: But they, they, they artist radio, whatever come after a song. It'd be more along the lines of what that song is like. That's what I normally do. I put an artist in and play one of the songs that I like and then go to artists. I go to artist radio and it'll play a lot of the similar. [01:35:18] Speaker B: Yeah, I went to. I went to a Ghost a Raekwon station on my Apple the other day. Boy, first thing they play with west side Gun. All that. I told you that reminds me of them boys. [01:35:35] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:35:35] Speaker B: Like, you know, but these, these right here though. This album, I don't know where it rank at in the top, none of that. But street wise and like that. That was outside when this was out. They'll forever love this album. Oh yeah, they gonna forever love it. I'm talking about it was just a moment in time. That's a moment, dog. Like this was a fucking moment. Cause nothing else like sounded like this. I don't give a fuck what they did. Like nothing else sounded like this. Them boys had. They came out in a time where New York was on top of the rap game. It was just about to change because the September 95 is when shit hit the fan at that Source Award. [01:36:25] Speaker A: Yeah, but it still took a while though. [01:36:27] Speaker B: It took a while. But Outkast had made the statement. And then it. [01:36:30] Speaker A: It ain't. It ain't happened until the 2000s. It was happening though, but like took over. Took over till after like Lil John and like. [01:36:38] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, that was the total takeover. Yeah, yeah, that was a total takeover. Yeah, yeah. But Give up the goods that get sprayed. [01:36:50] Speaker A: Oof. [01:36:51] Speaker B: But yeah, this album had this. This a cover to cover joint for me too. Like I did. [01:36:56] Speaker C: That wasn't bad. [01:36:57] Speaker B: I can cover to cover it like I do. Done it, did it, you know, plenty of times. Just like you played Shook Ones and Survival of the Fittest was the. Was like the first single released. And that was the introduction to Mobb Deep. Well, no, this was the second song released. They released this one second. They released Shook Ones, came out 2-93. They released it in 2-95. And then this came out in May 95. It's a walk going on outside. You can run, but you can't. And being a young black man, I don't care what hood you was in, you. You felt like that. You felt like that. You felt like that. Boy, I don't give a. You got them nipy socks on, though. So neighborhood, you straight Mac one double I touch you, leave you with. Not nothing to go home with, but yeah, man. Shout out to Mob D. Rest in peace to Prodigy, Happy birthday to Havoc. He just celebrated his birthday. But we appreciate this album, fellas, I promise you. And I actually got to visit. Well, I actually got to hear them. I saw him perform at the Music Farm. [01:38:28] Speaker A: In Charlotte? [01:38:29] Speaker B: No, in Columbia. [01:38:30] Speaker A: Mobb D. Yeah. [01:38:31] Speaker B: Remember that year I told you I saw Scarface and Mobb Deep the same time My wife got me the ticket. Oh. Saw both of them for 30, for $40. [01:38:39] Speaker A: Oh, wow. [01:38:39] Speaker B: $37. Yeah. [01:38:41] Speaker A: Never happened again. [01:38:42] Speaker B: Never. Never. But Scarface came first and they came at the end of the month. [01:38:51] Speaker A: How much did you see Scarface for in Raleigh? [01:38:56] Speaker B: I think I paid. Yeah, you, we. We talked about. [01:39:00] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, you paid like 70 something. [01:39:01] Speaker B: I paid close to a bill. [01:39:03] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. And I caught him for the. For the low fit. [01:39:06] Speaker B: Yeah. Cause you caught him on the last day. [01:39:08] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:39:09] Speaker B: Yeah, man. [01:39:09] Speaker A: Shout out to Rasheed Wallace. [01:39:11] Speaker B: Shout out to Rasheed Wallace. Saw Rasheed Wallace at the Scarface concert. Yeah. And I met Shaman Williams at Renzo. [01:39:19] Speaker A: Crib at his career. [01:39:21] Speaker B: Yeah. When his pop died. Shaman Williams, Shamon Williams used to play for the Tar Heels. [01:39:26] Speaker A: Really? [01:39:27] Speaker B: His Ren's cousin Jermaine, he used to coach with Shaman in Greenville at Furman. And Shaman's still up there. Well, Shaman from Greenville, so Jermaine live in Kentucky now. So when Jermaine got to South Carolina, he hit him up like shit. I'm be in Darlington. Oh, he came through and he pulled up on him. Yeah. [01:39:46] Speaker A: Oh, that's what's up. [01:39:46] Speaker B: Yeah. So I get out of the car. And Jermaine was like, you know who this is? I'm looking like, hell, yeah. I absolutely do. What is. [01:39:51] Speaker A: He signed my shoe, nigga. [01:39:52] Speaker B: What is he doing? I just took a picture with him. [01:39:54] Speaker A: I took a picture with him. [01:39:55] Speaker B: I asked him, like, who taught him how to shoot the basketball like that. But that's all I wanted to know. [01:39:59] Speaker A: What years did he go to? [01:40:00] Speaker B: 98 to old. No, 97 to 2001. [01:40:06] Speaker A: I think that's what's up. Yeah, but he even saw two Tar Heels. [01:40:11] Speaker B: Yeah. Like, with Ren. I told Ren, I'm start hanging with you. [01:40:16] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:40:17] Speaker B: You know what I'm saying? But, yeah, man, we gotta talk about this. Jesus. That's coming up, too. And what we gonna. How we gonna proceed? Cause he doing the orchestra shit. [01:40:31] Speaker A: I thought you was talking about going to the orchestra shit. [01:40:33] Speaker B: That's what I'm talking about. [01:40:34] Speaker A: You going. [01:40:34] Speaker B: I'm. We gotta talk about it. [01:40:37] Speaker A: It's gonna be in Atlanta. [01:40:38] Speaker B: It's in. It's in Raleigh on the 11th and Charlotte, 12th July. We gotta talk about it. We'll talk about it. [01:40:46] Speaker A: We got the clothes. [01:40:47] Speaker B: Yeah. I just wanted to bring it up. [01:40:48] Speaker A: On Mike so I got the clothes, so. [01:40:50] Speaker B: I know. Yeah, yeah, we got. Yeah, we got the. To wear. You know what I'm saying? [01:40:54] Speaker A: My cousin, she wanted me to go to the Gucci one. They did it in Charlotte or it was somewhere in North Carolina. [01:41:03] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:41:04] Speaker A: Might have been Atlanta, but she wanted me to go to that one. But I was like, I ain't no Gucci fan like that be putting on no damn shit. [01:41:11] Speaker B: But he doing the whole orchestra shit. [01:41:14] Speaker A: He the first one to do it because he did one a couple years ago in Atlanta. [01:41:19] Speaker B: Yeah, he was. But my whole issue is, do I want to hear that album with the orchestra? Yes, I do. [01:41:30] Speaker A: As a. I'm a music lover on a different kind of level than you. So, like, when I hit the horns. Yes. [01:41:37] Speaker B: Like, you. [01:41:38] Speaker A: You think I really want to hear cello? The viola. Yes, you do. Yes, you do. Yes, you do. You wanna. You wanna hear the strings? [01:41:49] Speaker B: Do I wanna. I think. Hey, see, now I gotta. Now I gotta go listen to the album. I gotta go listen to the album to see is. [01:41:56] Speaker A: It ain't no anniversary. It's anniversary 20th for travel die. [01:41:59] Speaker B: No one on one. [01:42:01] Speaker C: 101. [01:42:02] Speaker A: I mean. Yeah. [01:42:02] Speaker B: Thug motivation. Yeah. [01:42:03] Speaker A: 10 101. I might listen to that on the way out of here. [01:42:06] Speaker B: I got. I got. I'm gonna have to listen to. I ain't. I already know it. What I say. [01:42:09] Speaker A: I'm listening to Maldique. [01:42:11] Speaker B: No Friday Hot boys. Big time. [01:42:14] Speaker A: Big time. [01:42:15] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm gonna listen to that first for sure, man. [01:42:18] Speaker A: I used to have them tens jumping with that. Big time. [01:42:21] Speaker B: Yeah. As soon as I get. [01:42:21] Speaker A: I was talking. As soon as I get on New Orleans ax. [01:42:26] Speaker B: See, but see, I gotta see if I want to hear that with them strains, right? Play the intro for me real quick. Shout out to Mobb Deep, man. We appreciate everything y' all gave to the game, man. Yeah, just play the intro. Let me. Let me. Let me see. [01:42:38] Speaker A: All right. [01:42:41] Speaker B: That, that, that go. Let me see if I want to hear it with the. [01:42:44] Speaker A: You say the viola and the cello, and they got.
